Who will win the 2023 Cobden 100m Men's Gift?
2023 Cobden Men's 100m Gift
First cab off the rank for 2023/2024 season and we start with a 100m Men's gift at Cobden! With 50 entries and a few interstaters on the list we welcome Michael Moschou as the Backmarker off 2.5m hot off a very impressive 2022/23 season and Bay Sheffield performances. Jackson Bennett returns after barely missing a final in the gifts last season showing impressive consistency and will start from 3.25m. The evergreen Leigh Phelan lines up off 8.25m and Vic Sharma will give the field something to chase off the front mark of 15.5m. The majority of the field seems to sit between 5-7m and there's some big names amongst them. Who takes out the first gift for the men of the 2023/24?

Rosen to be an early contender for Athlete of the Year. Will he prioritise the gifts this weekend? The man is in shape!

12.67 for the 120 after track and wind adjustment. Honestly don’t you lot get bored talking about me?
Sorry for turning up in the best possible shape. How dare I. I work my ass off with very little natural ability. But hey I’ll make sure to be fat and underdone next year Or jog along for most of the year like some.
And this is my only account George.

Thanks Donatello for doing the polls this year
First pick of the yard for the year is Patty Martin after his blistering 400 at stawell from 21. 7.25 in a 100 seems very juicy for an early win

11.8 over the 100m and off that mark should be ultra competitive. If you get runners that are capable of 11.5 -11.6s from that mark then its all over red rover.

Tim can’t run anywhere near 11.5-11.6 LG

Re: 2023 Cobden Men's 100m Gift
The lads going hard on Tim clearly haven’t done their form… maybe they aren’t smart enough to do so???
McGann might run an alright time with an amateur run under his belt but I’d be taking Patty Martin. Form doesn’t suggest it but Lacey surely looks to be competitive off that mark once again

So lads are going hard on tim by showing support yet you’re going off facts/times from previous seasons with no idea of recent shape/form/injuries etc?
You’re basically saying from last season those guys will get up which in fact I’m willing to bet neither of them want to win Cobden or Mortlake

I’m just doing the form broski, I’m not taking into account an athletes motive.
Just looking at the numbers

I think early on people we very least expect are the ones taking control.
Eg endale at warnambool last year dropping a 12.3
I don’t think anyone saw that coming(except him)

Guess he’s one-up’ed you already aye Georgie Boy? Whatever you or anyone else may think Tim can run, every week he’ll run at his absolute limit. Find me a more honest athlete and I’ll start running the 2 mile again.

Mekonnen takes the early win again! No backers this round but a few did manage to pick a number of the finalists so not too bad

Masters races don’t count hey George? That’s the lifeblood of the sport you’re shitting on. The guys who sponsor events. Help organise. Sit on the board. Contribute their time and money so pissants like you can jog all season then try to pinch something.
I will enjoy my rehab. In front of my 15 sashes. Cya in a couple of months for number 16

Georgy Porgy look at it this way, Tim could have had a stack more runs, got out further then gone bang at a bigger event. If he'd done that you'd be crying about that as well I guess,so can't have it both ways. It may be painful for you but some acknowledgement for stepping up and taking a win in the first weekend is not too much to ask; goes for all the winners.
As for your comment 'Masters Races' don't count; some of them are still moving pretty well and getting a win in these is as hard as the open. I personally love watching them but get they're not for all.

Get well soon Tim, every sprinter knows the pain of a hamstring pop. Especially after months of hard work.
