Entry list has been posted on the VAL website, handicaps are live next week.

Re: Cobden Gift 2023
Alrighty then I guess I’ll kick off the discussion.
Who caught your eye in the entry list for next weekends double header. I know handicaps aren’t out yet, but I think everyone has a pretty good grasp on how the marks will look.
Michael Moschou - the obvious one for me. Won the Bay Sheff in incredible fashion and will be coming back a long way. Being such a young kid and now a major win under his belt, cannot wait to see his improvement
Nic Antonino and Endale - both these boys ran super last year and will be coming back in handicaps, no longer front markers. How will these two handle the heat… and have they made the leaps and bounds necessary to challenge again this year??
In the women’s, excited to see if Layla Watson and Chloe Kinnersly can fulfil their potential. Not a huge field so it could be there for the taking if they want it. Otherwise the NESP squad could take an early win, either Liv Ryan or Keely FTW.
Lastly, do my eyes deceive me… Tim Rosen is now a master?! Keen to see him run the masters events week in week out.

Well put Norm, I completely agree with all your points! I'd definitely expect a win from some South Australians early on.
Obviously tough to predict a winner from just the entry list;
Maki Loukeris was breaking into some form at Rye last season I'd be interest to see how he goes this year! He seemed to vanish after Rye and I don't recall seeing him getting injuried?? Nevertheless he will be one to watch
Patrick Martin it's hard for me to look past this bloke after a sizzling Stawell Backies final, I wouldn't be surprised if he steps down to run some equally fast gift times.
I've got a few others I'm keeping my eye on but I reckon a lot of the young guns are gonna show their form this year keen to see Jackson Bennett and Massimo Acquaro run as well
