Who will win the 2023 Rye 120m Men's Gift?
2023 Rye 120m Men's Gift
Quality entries this week for the Men's Gift, 80 in total and plenty of athletes searching for a 0.5m lift. There has been a considerable amount of work put in to the surface, and it's looking like we're in for a warm day with quick racing.
Recent Hobart and Burnie Gift winner Jesse McKenna starts as the backmarker off 1.5m, and this will be his first run for the VAL season.
It's going to be a cracker this Saturday, who wins? Cast your votes below.

Add Dunmall and Bennett to that list Norm.
Surprised that they didn’t reach the St Albans final after their recent good form.

Shark spotted in the harbour, seen heading towards rye. 3 dead, 1 critically injured. We’re gonna need a bigger boat

Come on norm! You’re slipping. How’d you leave off the 10.6 windy, 10.8 legal guy in his first ever gift, off 6m? Reckon that might be enough to squeeze into the top 8 He’s only 17 as well.

Pick of the yard this week is Sam Clark a slightly windy 10.86 (+2.1) just under a month ago, has 7.75 will threaten if he runs.

Throw Clark up against Matthew Parrott
Windy 10.66 (+3.1) pre Xmas, off 6m.

Norm never slips. I presume you’re talking about Matthew Parrott, his handicap is 5m and I don’t think he’s on the podium with that mark yet. Doesn’t make the final for me thanks Tim

Re: 2023 Rye 120m Men's Gift
It was 6m when you posted your tips. But nice try
Yes it’ll be harder off 5m now.
Seems there have been a couple of changes to these
Parrott 6m to 5m
Clark 7.75m to 7.25m

Re: 2023 Rye 120m Men's Gift
Sorry Tim, I didn't mean to burst your bubble, but I was aware his mark was going to be 5m.
even with the handicap changes, I think if Clark has improved like his PBs suggest and therefore runs better than what he did at Beachside last year... this is his to lose.
Mitchell surely doesn't choose this one does he??

Re: 2023 Rye 120m Men's Gift
From those who have run recently, Mitchell has 1m up on the rest getting just nipped on the line by Vi who is in hot form. 70m looks good this week for Vi along with Nicolussi.
Rizzo and Smith will be close after Vaitohi stamped the form.
Outside of recent form, Rye sees the return of the Victorian Corey Baker who looked good at Waverley. He looks the best handicapped in the field along with Clark.
Shiers will appreciate the downhill and I expect Romero to start to show the form he displayed at Essendon.

Hey Monica…Smith will find it difficult to be close when he isn’t even entered
Schiers and Rizzo will also find it tough as they don’t appear to be entered either.

LOL lucky you are on the ball Tim. I was looking at my black book and not entries. Should have thrown in Baker (SA) & Perris then.
With Rizzo and Smith out then Mitchell has 2m up on recent runners.
Baker and Clark the only dangers.
