Commonsense , then you dont get completely bitten on the arse at their next run, or you have reason to take action.

Re: Race Reports
3 weeks and still no race report from the Bay.What is going on.
Rye ran on the 14th and already up on the Val website.
Also SAAL Chief take note of what happens in Val if you run in another event after making a final. In saal its a dogs breakfast , not in the val.
Read below, taken of val website and see how its done in the val.Saal and val , poles apart.
Adrian Bender was spoken to after running his heat of the 400m Men’s as he had already qualified for the 300m Master’s final in a competitive time. He had not sought the permission of the Stewards so was issued an NAP in both events and fined $50.
Cameron Moss was spoken to following the final of the 800m Open as he contested a heat of the 120m Men’s Gift shortly before the 800 final. His coach Nick Fiedler advised that he told him to run as he didn’t think he was a chance in the 800m final and he wants to get more racing into him. The Stewards found this unacceptable and issued Cameron with a UP in the 800m.
Nick Fiedler was fined $25 for advising his runner to compete in another event after he had qualified for a final, not allowing him the opportunity to compete to his best.
Well done to the val for having the reports up so quick and taking the action that you do.

Re: Race Reports
Still no Chief Stewards reports from the Bay.
Im interested as I was there and want to know what sanction was handed out to a certain coach , considering sanctions handed out to coaches, athlets and officials in the past were for less.
Or is it swept under the carpet because the coach is on the management committee

Re: Race Reports
Today is EXACTLY 4 weeks since the 2nd day of the Bay Sheffield Carnival.
Still no Chief Stewards report.
Whatever way you look at it , its not good enough.
If any Val athletes feature in the race report for any reason , they have had 4 meetings since running at the Bay.
The saal have had one.
Handicappers doing handicaps , how do they know if an athlete received an AP or a UP or whatever.
4 weeks and counting.

Re: Race Reports
Well, the report is out. Not sure if it tells the whole story.
I was told there's more to the 550 than meets the eye. The park view hotel after Maryborough is a perfect place for a yarn.
Interestingly nothing mentioned of the 3200 front markers having the results published wrong either.
It's a good thing Stawells not far way. The Gift Hotel is even better for a yarn!!!

Hi Stevie , a lot of things dont make CENTS !!StevieBee wrote:It sounds like you heard or saw what I heard!! Z man

First , why post the Chief Reports on the 24 or 25th and put the 10th on it, just doesnt make cents.
Also for the Chief Steward to rate the track as Standard Grass then do adjustments on time on a selection of circle events from 550m to 3200 makes, KNOWCENTS.

Re: Race Reports
17.2 Hot Weather Policy
In the event that the expected highest temperature for a race day is estimated to be 38 degrees or
above, at the carnival location as shown on the Bureau of Meteorology website two days before the
race day, the first race on the program will not be held before 6 p.m. If this is not possible the race
meeting may be postponed or cancelled.
CHIEF STEWARD’S REPORT
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ATHLETIC LEAGUE
BAY SHEFFIELD CARNIVAL
DAY ONE AND TWO
Meeting Name Bay Sheffield Carnival
Date 27th and 28th December
Weather Conditions Weather: Day 1 was super hot, 41+ requiring the hot weather policy be invoked,
Racing started at 5.30 pm, with short sprints only there was a light wind.
A cool changed arrived, with rain showers about 9.30 pm
Not good enough for me, Chief completely ignoring the rules of racing set down by the league he represents.
The Reports being back dated to suit.
The SA Whisperer will not be posting on Talking Pros for the remainder of the season.
And to those taking pop shots from the cheap seats behind the Whisperers back, I know who everyone of you is, Wouldnt expect anything less.

Re: Race Reports
Crystal Brook
GENERAL COMMENTS
There was only one reportable incident, which is outlined in the performance section.
This incident has been further investigated, and there is a separate incident report
Why in the hell report something then dont report it.
Im hearing it could involve the same person who shot his mouth off to wards officials at the Bay.
What is stopping the Chief Steward from using RULE 4.3
4.3 Abuse of Officials
The Chief Steward may impose a fine or suspension as detailed in “Appendix 1” (also refer to Code
of Conduct for Coaches) on any person proved to have used obscene, threatening, abusive or
insulting language to or concerning any official of the SAAL at any time.

Re: Race Reports
Please correct me if im wrong. And Steve is incorrect. 9/10. But why would you decide in February to make joint chief stewards? Indeed that's a vote of non-confidence?
Hey buddy, look, you've been so good for 3/4 of the season, but we feel you need the help!
Either it's a poor judgement by the committee to only recognise it now or........ It's a vote of no confidence

3 meetings to go and the saal announce co captains.
Bit like the Crows , give top gig to a boy whos been there 5 mins.
The saal had to do something , but surely wait until the end of the season which is only a drop punt away.

With two chiefs working together, surely it shouldn't take this long.

Re: Race Reports
Stevie , two co Chiefs doesnt work.
I wonder which one made the call to allow Rothe to run in the 300m event when he had already qualified for the prestigious Loxton Gift and was a huge chance for a podium finish.
Obviously the Chiefs dont place as much importance on a rich country gift as I do.
By the way Stevie Im waiting for the Camden report to highlight the obvious that was missed by both boys.Wont mention before or it will be a rushed add on.

Re: Race Reports
Well the Camden report is in, and the report mentions almost every race except when the special was on for $1 snags at the barbie when none of the stewards were watching.Z Score wrote:Stevie , two co Chiefs doesnt work.

By the way the Co Boys were both on duty as they were down at the Bay.
Here is what they missed , I know they read Talking Pros so this lad will be watched closely if he turns up this week.
Nov 20th Port Adel the athlete runs 4.22.53 off 345 over 1600m
Then goes to the Bay , wins the Frontmarkers 1600m off 345 in a time of 4.06.60 well under net
So improves 81m or thereabouts and what did the stewards say NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING
In 5 weeks he improves 81m and NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING said.
Then on Feb 5th runs over 1600m at Camden off 295 so he has been pulled 50m for his win at the Bay but loses 161m and runs 4.41.79, So take away the 50m pull he still loses 111m as well , What is said NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING
Same stewards same thing said NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING
Yep go back to the results and check , the stewards missed the obvious
And we now have co Chiefs who were both there.
What a shambles ,Im heading out as Whisperer did enoughs enough.
Im done for this season.
Sorry Jake beware on Sun they will be watching you as I know they read Talking pros.
When they pull you in , just ask them Why now its been okay in the past.

Not sure who actually votes for the award.StevieBee wrote:Z before you go. Do you know who votes on the athlete of the meet? Was told the Loxton result at Frankston last night and well it's laughable
I would have thought Atkins , would probably get it , winning in the RED.
Not completely sure who got it, you obviously know, but I did hear Atkins got trumped by a bloke who finished 4th in the 120m and 5th in the 300m.......................UNBELIEVABLE if correct, not sure from what stable!!!!!!!!!!
That means if correct, Atkins sailed passed the athlete of the meeting at some stage in the race.
Also been told that the new cochief thinks the best way to watch races is from the finishing line, because thats what he was taught.
Done and dusted for this season cheers
