Re: Stawell provisional handicaps
Sherman .5 after winning off 1 at Ballarat it was a 1m penalty, not sure how this works
Then a few athletes who have been given their lifts in front of ceiling.
Loukeris handicapped in front of ceiling time by .75
Mannix power handicapped .25 in front of ceiling
Newton handicapped .25 in front of ceiling
That’s just to name a few in the gift distance haven’t had a look at all the other distances yet

POTY is that taking into consideration the average of the 2 fastest RPMs of the athlete's? Loukeris ran .1086 and .1100 for an average of .1093. Off 7.75m that gives him a time of 12.26. This doesnt break ceiling.
Mannix Power has .1183 and .1201 which gives .1192 and off 4.25m gives a time of 13.79 again not breaking ceiling.

The rule doesn’t say 2 times anymore. That was taken out of the rules
“ The Handicap Calculations table (Schedule 1) sets out the ceiling time for each event. If an athlete’s time (adjusted time for the sprint events) in any round or final, is under the ceiling time, their handicap will be adjusted to a handicap that takes them back to the ceiling at the next carnival they compete in over that distance based on their RPM recorded in the performance that broke the ceiling time.”
As to getting the stawell bonus —
5. In receiving this lift, athletes may not be handicapped to a mark that places them beyond their ceiling handicap; however, they may receive a portion of the allocated lift so that they are handicapped to that ceiling mark. More information on ceiling times can be found within the Handicap Regulations.

Sigh I'm pretty sure I've posted this before.
Pick you have only read part of it. No one broke ceiling winning their gift so no adjustment takes place.
Under Handicap Ceiling in the regs (which is what we are talking about because we need to establish the athlete's ceiling point) it says:
Handicap Ceiling (CP) or Maximum Handicap
An athlete cannot be lifted beyond their ceiling point calculation for that event. The Ceiling point is
determined by dividing the athlete’s best RPMs (refer to Calculation of Notional Starting Handicap for
details on how this is obtained) into the ceiling time for the event.
So we need to use the Calculation of Notional Starting Handicap which is
For Established athletes in Regular events, the calculated notional starting handicap is determined by
dividing the average of the athlete’s best Rate Per Metre (RPM) from the last 5 seasons and the next
best RPM from the last 2 seasons, into the starting time for that event. The Starting time for each event
is available in Schedule 1 of the Handicap Regulations.
The average of 2 times as Jim mentioned is certainly still in the rules

Make sure you stay tuned for further info about a preview show/event taking place on the Friday night in Stawell. You’ll hear about all the best chances across sprint events, masters events, distance events and junior events.

Would have been shaking in my boots if I was a front-marker. TP would have gobbled them all up in next to no time by the 60m mark.
Makes things a bit easier for Endale/Hunt to not have to deal with TP starting next to them. Can King come home late and take the chocolates?

Yes this true. Very unfortunate, and moving well prior to injury.
The UN true part is. It happened at the Bendigo gift 70m semi final racing. And it was a quad injury. Not hamstring. Just to get your rumours right. And too serious to get right in time, unfortunately
Good luck to all competing.
My pick is Endale Mekonnon.
R.a.d. Coach.

Hi Scott
That is just all misinformation
We’re you at Bendigo to observe Tapasu racing or just assuming?

Re: Stawell provisional handicaps
Michael Dinan hot pick amongst the bookies I've been told. His mark has almost doubled since his Cobden/Mortlake final and he found some time up (what is that?) since his last race. If my sources are true he's going 21.1 in the 200 peg to peg (why?)at HVC this Saturday. Dinan is known amongst his peers as "Darth Vader" and I think we all know why

My other sources (tomato) have just told me that Rory Plant is back and entered under a fake name. The washed up retired teacher's aid has been seen cooking up a master-class in lane 3 at dmac, to the point where the lane is now unusable. Those who follow the TAL know that Rory is capable of greatness. The Ace of Mt Martha.

Yep, The Rowse doing what he’s best at: talking absolute shit with low iq grammar skills. I have my picks, I’ll keep them to myself. Tim OTHY to take out the masters 100m, hopefully we can hear him brag about Leigh Phelan’s masters record again?

Talking sh....., I just clarified and corrected a wrong. Speculate all you want, but I have no reason to lie. 2 years working with an athlete with great improvements to fall short by a few weeks to compete, that's the sad story, for coach and athletes.
At least I'm transparent with my identification, and don't hide behind a name and throw darts.
Have a great day.
