Re: Beachside Results
What a great meet Beachside always is! Shame I couldn’t make it down this time but the Kayo stream was fantastic.
Well done to Kerr who took a 70m win off a tight handicap. IMO he would be Stawell gift favourite if he was on 4-5m.
Boulton win surprised me, looked like Ilett’s to lose. Think he can still take a lift before Stawell and still go well, maybe even a final.
Watson surely shoots herself into finals contention??? Looked great in the gift and is only going to get better each week.
What is going on in the masters???? Coulson a 0.75m lift, thought I had seen it all. Locks in his (wrong) mark now and will be close to winning his 2nd masters 100m in only 3 years.
The 2 x 400m were easily the highlight of the meeting. You guys know Norm, and he supports equality. If the 400m are going to be equally as impressive as each other, the keep pumping up the prize money of those 400s. Women’s 400s have seriously improved this year, thought Crispy was going to be impossible to beat, Zotti just too good. Does she lock in that mark for Stawell now? Does anyone know?
Ben Seers is going to be a VERY good runner

Re: Beachside Results
Agree - Kayo feed was good and overall was great viewing.
Kerr's win was good to see off a tight mark and I was also surprised by Boulton, didn't quite see that coming but good on him. And yet another placing for Bennett.
Coulson put the other vets to shame running a mighty fast 11.1 and should now be the favourite for Stawell Masters. Poor Phelan runs 2nd again, is that 3 in a row? Come on Timmy, get your man across the line next time ;-)

Re: Beachside Results
Alot of vets very unhappy with .75 lift for Coulson. Especially after winning stawell only 2 seasons ago. Most of the Vets backmarkers have not moved over 3 seasons and run most weeks to there full potential just to be competitive.
Handicap made a big error here.

Re: Beachside Results
Coulson has been lifted 1.25m this year, first 12.5m to 13m, then wins open 70m. Now moved to 13.75m, this is larger mark then when he won Stawell masters. Lifted 1.25m within the season is just excessive, especially considering he's already won the Stawell masters before.
It is utter a disgrace from the handicapper and has ruined the race for other masters, he only needs to run a few tenths inside 13s for the 100m to win. What about the prestige of the event ? Sure he is close to 50, but still masters running low 12s in the age group and faster.

Re: Beachside Results
That narrows it down to Brendan Bailey and Usain Bolt.
