Not a bad day at the office for Maurer! Ashcroft is due for a win soon, hope he gets it.

Re: Meadowglen Results
Maurer definitely MVP yesterday, seems to have discovered the fountain of youth!
Keratianos looks like she will win whatever she likes after a handy lift.
Jacob Reed who just fell short in the mile will have another big season.

Re: Meadowglen Results
Brett was sensational and a very worthy Gift winner. Has been a strong competitor in professional athletics for 17 years now since he first gave it a go, and this was his first open race win so he has certainly earnt it. He’s in his mid 40’s now and going as well as ever.

Re: Meadowglen Results
Can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with Dwight. Some musings:
Turned into Brett's Big Day Out can't say much more there!
70m
Bennett also impressive to win the 70m and again make the final of the 200m finishing 5th.
Ashcroft seems to always be close, Frankston on the cards maybe?
Zoe Neale will win a 70m this season just a matter of which one she wants!
Women's 100m
Keratianos (agree with Dwight) in good form already
S. Mohamed had a great run I thought and could be there abouts later in the season
Plessinger strong run as well from 6.75m
Open 200m
J. Boulton will win a gift this season
Rosen showed he was a genuine chance, lift come Stawell?
S. Morris strong runs, saw a limp at the end of a 200 hopefully not injured?
550m
Kilpatrick ran brilliantly in the 550m I thought off 25m
300m
Moore taking the win in the 300m in a tight finish was good to see
Harvey running well off that back mark of 9m as well to come 8th in the final
Mile
Mile was good to watch, again as Dwight said, Reed to have a good season ahead

Re: Meadowglen Results
Ellie K going from 4.75m -> 6m on the day. Winner of Ringwood 100m last season in 11.5 off 5.25m and 13.95 off 6.5m in 120m at Stawell. Both those adjusted times suggest she has run above her start mark for 2nd yesterday.

Re: Meadowglen Results
This has already been said by Myself and Tom Morehouse previously on here, but I’ll try for a 3rd time just for you Din.
All women have been lifted the equivalent of 0.2 to bring them in line to the new start and ceiling times that have been allocated in the womens gift. (14.2/14.0 have become 14.0/13.8 )

Re: Meadowglen Results
Yes understand that Tim. Ellie’s fastest sample times will have her running under start time of 14s from her 120m equivalent of 7.25m.

Re: Meadowglen Results
Off the top of my head, her start mark appears to be correct. Around 7 I got in my head. I’d have to use a calculator later to double check my math. Don’t forget to factor in the 2nd time used in the sample requires a track adjustment. Then they use the average of those 2 to determine a start mark.

Re: Meadowglen Results
Ellie’s best two samples (with 0.1s allowance for last season on synthetic) are:-
1) Ringwood 2021 - 11.50 (11.60 allowance) from 5.25m = 0.1224rpm
2) Stawell 2021 - 13.95 from 6.50m = 0.1229rpm
Avg of 2 samples is 0.1226rpm.
With this rpm 100m start time of 11.66 she should start from 5m (4.89m calculated)
120m start time of 14.0s she should start from 5.75m (5.80m calculated)
Ellie won the last women’s race prior to Stawell and the standard penalty for this also appears to have been ignored. Ringwood was non penalty for Easter but not for the following season.

Re: Meadowglen Results
I will double check later, but I can already see two mistakes you’ve made. 0.2 for track. And you haven’t even used the correct way to determine a 120m gift start mark.

Re: Meadowglen Results
0.20s for 100m adjustment on synthetic tracks is a change updated only last week. It was 0.1s adjustment last season. Numerous start hcps would require changing if this was the case.
To clarify I have used the two best sample times and determined the start hcp by the avg rpm. Not sure what other way might be.
For the sake of comparing hcps if you change to a 0.20s allowance, Ellie would have an avg rpm of 0.1231 = 5.25m (100) 6.25m (120m)

Re: Meadowglen Results
I’ve decided I am going to leave this one now. I don’t think it’s fair to be delving into one specific athletes mark in this much detail on a forum. But I can say I have gone home, used the calculator, and I do not come to the same conclusion as you. I got very close to what I originally estimated in my head. Let’s leave it up to the handicappers and in turn the handicap review panel to deal with these sorts of issues. If you’re worried about her beating an athlete you’re associated with, just train them to be faster
