Who wins the Men's Gift?
Ballarat Men's Gift
It has been a while since we have seen someone take out the 70m and 120m at Ballarat. Will we see it again this week? I have my eye on someone.

Re: Ballarat Men's Gift
hmmm, interesting field this one.
not gonna name names but I'm thinking we will see a few more blokes dipping at the finish line instead of the usual "lean back as far as I can and hope I don't run fast or win"
nevertheless, here is my final
Leferink
Reid
Bailey
Baird
Kerr
Antonino
Burleigh
Rosen

Joel Bee takes the fastest athlete and the gift double here. Has a nice lift since his last start at the Bool and I think he'll be saying thankyou very much come Sunday afternoon

Maybe 5-6 years ago mate don’t make me laugh he will be grabbing his hammy after each run wondering why he can’t catch anyone that’s in form.Speedy wrote:Joel Bee takes the fastest athlete and the gift double here. He was running off scratch not too long ago. I'm backing him in this week, there won't be any hammy issues.

Just pointing out the fact he always grabs at his hammy if he can’t get onto the runners ,
Is it attached to his heart?

Joel will struggle to get out of bed Saturday, let alone get out of his heat

Bit disrespectful there Krumblepie. Everybody suffers injuries and take time to get back to their best/near their best.
Ran 12.6 off 1 just a year ago at Ballarat. That’s still pretty bloody quick if you ask me. Hardly ages ago. Also came 2nd off 5m in the Maryborough 200 last year. Pretty much everyone in the VAL dreams of running as fast as Joel has.

Joel can’t win. Nothing but respect but no surprise if he doesn’t make it out of heat. Looking forward to the admin vs Baird vs the interstates

Joel would say to you Tim the only reason why you final is cause you have a telephone number as a handicaptimrosen35 wrote:Bit disrespectful there Krumblepie. Everybody suffers injuries and take time to get back to their best/near their best.

Yeah and I wouldn’t care cos it isn’t anonymous and behind a keyboard. He would say it to my face and I’d have a laugh about it. Also I hardly think starting a few metres in front of you is that big a deal...
Maybe go past me sometime if I’m so shit hey? Then I wouldn’t final. I’m quite happy with how I’m running atm. Maybe worry about yourself and get your body back in shape

Roses are red, violets are blue, I have the winner to the gift, I’ll give you a clue
Wins come far and wide, especially when he tends to glide. Surprising cause he has lots of pride.
He drives a Ute, never eats fruit. KFC all day, this weekend that will get him paid. B for big show, he will steal this one from his training partner, that’s a new low.
God bless

Re: Ballarat Men's Gift
Ballarat Gift has dropped some impressive performances for a very long time. They have been an innovator and consistently grabbed the attention of high quality athletes across multiple distances.
The voting was interesting with the final, according to the votes and a healthy dose of my interpretation of those receiving them, Sonsini 6.5m (red), Seb Baird 7.5m (white), John Evans 7.5m (blue), Harrison Kerr 8.25m (green), Matt Burleigh 9.25m (yellow), Dion Paull 10.75m (pink), Tim Rosen 14m (black)
I realise that is only 7 in the final but the votes are across these athletes. If we were to get this as a final I would not complain.
On to the votes
Seb Baird 7.5m / John Evans 7.5m - 15% - Ever since Baird dropped the hammer we have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting. We saw at Wangaratta that he was flying, he just got beaten by someone who ran better. Baird must be in the final, he must be in the top three and should be in front if what we have seen so far was his true form. Before the bonus system we would not have seen him let off the handbrake until Easter. Now, just how fast will he go and what will he end up on? Evans is an interesting runner but not ready.
Jai Perry 9m / Matt Burleigh 9.25m - 19% - Perry has shown glimpses but not enough to make me think he is ready. His Bool time cannot be taken into consideration. I would like to see him perform more consistently before I put the house on him. Burleigh has made most finals on offer across multiple states. He is a quality front marker who should be considered a top three chance. I am curious as to how he will go knowing that Baird is coming, his performance at Wangaratta was good in holding Baird off but I feel that Baird switched off when he realised he couldn't get near Ireland. It could very well be a first and second finish, I have Baird in front.
