.The track at Kensington was considered in the Stewards report a LITTLE SPONGY but look at those times and no adjustment made , dont worry about being a little spongy ...its was fast..

I will name names because results show it all.
Jack Dowling runs 1.14.64 off 77m at Kensington.
Then runs 1.10.81 at the Bay off 74m.........................but adjusted to a slower 1.11.49
Now go to YOU TUBE type in, 2020 Kensington 550m Open yep the lad running around in the number 5 singlet wins at the Bay 4 weeks later.
ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL, you have to watch it to believe it, no mention in the Stewerds report.
Does anyone know who coaches Dowling.
You look at this shake your head and ponder how Hudson can get dq after winning the week before.
Please take your time to look at the two results and the you tube footage ..........neither race mentioned in the stewards report.
But its all okay in SA so Im told.

The SAAL have turned into a complete joke.... and they still don’t understand what they are doing to their own sport! Naive, dumb, stubborn, and the list goes on!!!

SA Whispers. SAAL told all it's runners 2 years ago this system is 100% but the goal poster just get moved to cover every mistake they make.
Just the lazy 11 changes after the bay. But it was 100% at the time of the bay!
PARAMETER CHANGES
Based on feedback received and a close analysis of handicaps/results, the Handicapping Sub-Committee has put forward the following recommended alterations to the handicapping system. The Management Committee will be meeting this Sunday and all ratified changes will be made in time for the release of handicaps for Reynella. The 11 recommendations are:

Those amendments don’t come close to solving their problems. The mere fact that the adjustments are limited to these and the scope of these show that they still don’t comprehend the magnitude of the problems their processes are creating. The capping is sensible but still doesn’t come close. The processes by the SAAL even with some capping is still like casting out a line and plonking runners out on marks way to early even with the limited capping.
BTW - the mere inclusion of the VAL database is also flawed and screws VAL runners or runners that have competed in the VAL because they are many tracks (eg Warrnambool which is massively down hill, tracks where the wind creates unrealistic false results etc, large track indexes for Bendigo etc, synthetic allowance etc). In the VAL those performances are either ignored are allowed for when applying a rating for each athlete over each distance. Unfortunately the SAAL aren’t privy to that information and haven’t cared to ask so it’s bad luck to those athletes if they go to SA or even if they are from SA.
SAAL know best, 20 years behind Victoria, but they start their own system that they think is great that has so many mistakes in it. They could have adopted many of the concepts and clauses from The VAL, but no their system is going to be the bees knees!!!
Even with the suggested adjustments, it’s still not workable and does not come close to a progressive, conservative system that is reliable and has integrity processes like the VAL.

Re: Nothing wrong with the SA system , you be the judge
How hopeless is the person that rated the Kensington track, it is like a bowling green, its a fast track all day every day with no imperfections in it at all.
I dont know who coaches Dowling, its doesnt matter to me when commenting, my conclusions are never based on athlete or coach. How, like you say SA Whisperer, does Dowling not run red when he has a 4 second improvement with 3m more to run?
And if not in the Bay Sheffield, how did he not run red at the Pre Bay? Came 3rd in the 550 off 77m (same mark) ran 4 seconds quicker.
Reality is a handicapper would probably had him on 70m.
He ran 1:12 off 68m at the Bay 2019 550m then gets a 9m lift for his next run at Kensington. Its what this system does, spits out huge random lifts when the times shown are already competitive.
Nett for an open 550m is 1:10 so at 1:12 in my opinion is close enough to Nett.
I dont understand why the SAAL is so hell bent on getting results right on Nett only to find they end up under Nett. The first 2 in the Kensington 550 final are under Nett, 3rd is on Nett, Pre Bay550 final the first 3 are on Nett. Bay Sheff 550m final the first 2 are also right on Nett.
They do this with all distances almost all the time and its no wonder they end up with problems.

Hi T.S. I hope you had a look at the You tube...........BLOODY DISGRACEFUL... then he goes to the Pre Bay and improves out of sight to get set for the Bay............why , ...because he can . Because there was no stewarding at Kensington and Pre Bay.
Track rating at Kensington was rated a bit spongy and Standard by the Chief.
Mate, if that is the rating of the track and they ran those sort of times I think the saal should look at the way they rate tracks instead of going to previous years and just copying.
