Tickets have opened for the 2021 Powercor Stawell Gift, with only 5,000 spectators allowed each day I'd suggest getting on them ASAP before they sell out.

Some important information to read for all Athletes and Trainers regarding the procedures in place for the upcoming Stawell Gift. Including information on the new 'Athlete Zone'.

Happy to give my thoughts on any runners you’re interested in. But don’t have time to do a full form guide.

If an athlete isn’t running on the Monday do they need to buy tickets or does there athlete pass get used for the whole weekend.

When will stawell handicaps come out will be interesting to see what some people are on!

LMWP I believe you are able to swap your Athletes Pass for a ticket into either the Maroon or White Zone once you have finished competing, it lasts the entire weekend so no need to purchase a ticket.

Although the gift will be televised, will the events that are not televised be live streamed like several meetings throughout the season?

Hopefully Athletics Exclusive can do it, they’ve been great so far this season.

Also will be interesting to see if any covid protocols are changed such as crowd numbers or zones due to the loosened restrictions coming up this Friday. Would like to see zones removed don’t see how this will properly work and doesn’t make sense, Crowd numbers may not matter to much as 5,000 may not be reached anyway. Thanks

Absolute antiquated thinking by Stawell and the VAL if there isn’t a live stream, outside of the broadcast time slot.
I don’t know the legalities of it, ie, whether the broadcast rights have a blanket over the entire weekend, however, if there isn’t a logical or legal reason why it can’t happen, it is a lazy, backward step in the promotion and connection of our sport to the masses.

I wonder if the athletes will be wearing silks during the heats and semi’s. If so, are there going to be any covid measures in place, for example spraying down the silks before and after using. Or are athletes using there own colours as per usual.

Agree that the zones are a bit farcical for an event that goes across multiple days. I am sure like others I have family spectators and friends staying with me. I will be in athlete zone and the others have already purchased tickets in white and maroon zones. So in the unlikely event that any of us catch covid we will more than likely spread it in our car ride home or at the accommodation, and then spread it across 3 zones at the venue!!!

Households should be in same zone! Did anyone go to the 'G' for round one? Despite crowd capacity limits I hear people were still packed like sardines at Richmond station trying to catch the first train home - and that first train being packed.

Just add it to the list of inconsistencies throughout the last 12 months of dealing with this in Vic!!
