Barossa Chief Stewards report, are they serious.
Here are some snippets from the race report .
1/ 800m Women – Straight Final
Chief Steward has been advised by the Handicapper that due to the small
field of 3 athletes and the travel commitment made by each to compete he
has decided there will be no handicap win penalties applied.
2/ 400m Over 35 – Straight Final
Chief Steward has been advised by the Handicapper that 400m Over 35 – Straight Final
Chief Steward has been advised by the Handicapper that due to the travel
commitment made by each athlete to compete he has decided there will be
no handicap win penalties applied.
First of all, a NO PENALTY gimmick is used to attract athletes to a meeting not as a gimmick after the event.
Only 5 athletes competed in the Under 18 boys 300m at Mt Gambier , no Gimmick was used then when there was further to travel.Moving the goal posts to suit during the season is not the answer.
Read the report carefully.

Only person who benefits from a Penalty Free is the Winner who already has the SASH, CASH AND WIN.and now no penalty , the winner has been rewarded multiple times without the No Penalty.
So what do those due to travel commitment made by each athlete to compete actually get.I can tell you.
They get the same as all the other athletes in all the other races on the day that travelled to the Barossa get.
So why only two winners of races picked out in a chook raffle , why not the other races, get Penalty free,
Dont throw the handicapper under the bus, the Chief has the final call.
Im hearing some people cant organise a sunrise , now Im beginning to believe it.

TRAVEL COMMITMENT, From the Adelaide CBD its 53 km.
For you Victorians it would be like going from Spencer st station to Cranbourne or Bcchus Marsh
Call it what like you like, but Travel Commitment....Hardly
Spot on Stevie, Crystal Brook 2000m women /over 35 only had 5 competitors
How could you have any confidence in what the C.S. is going to do.

Wonder if there are any Travel Commitment penalty free win races this week by going to Brighton and what events they will choose.

Its CRISIS time, unless the League gets the broom out , the league faces the problem of being a one meeting season. The Bay Sheffield.
Lets face it, the meeting at Brighton will be very ordinary with no 120m races.
And Loxton Gift worth $6500 will be no more than 2 to 3 heats propped up by Over 35 athletes and athletes who prefer a race with a bend in them.
No more gimmicks , time to face up.

Hi Z
In the past Loxton was always an appealing for a few others as it's run on a Saturday. Can make a flying trip over and be back for work on Monday.
But the appeal has gone out the window in recent times especially the treatment of a my boy the floater.

That treatment on Floater was fairly ordinary, pretty sure the Coaches prizemoney was even held back from him.
Domino effect.
