Re: Bay Sheffield Day 2 Results
Word on the streets is the Stewards report for Day 2 will be lobbing in everyones in mail as early as Fri , Mon at latest.
The mail tells me that it has taken the saal approx 10 days to send out, please explain letters, but closures and penalties are being rubber stamped very quickly to meet a deadline.
All I can say , is listen to the athletes , if you need extra time , all you need to do, is put in the report, DECISION IMPENDING, not hard, take your time to come up withe correct outcome for everyone .Dont rush it.Dont be bullish , we have had too much of that in the past.

Sounds like the bullish nature of the beast has already risen its head.
Those up early enough this morning would have read a post on an athletes facebook page........the persons own facebook page................NOT THERE ANYMORE.

Re: Bay Sheffield Day 2 Results
I think the saal reads Talking Pros because the goal posts have slightly moved.
Now if you want SA Whisperers help , you know what you have to do , come and ask for it and have in your hand an apology for what happened to SA Whisperer 4 years ago when he had the courage to stand up when few others didnt.
By the way I hope you have reconsidered the fine dished out to the 1600m winner, how does Whisperer get these tip offs , all I can say is, the saal has leaks.
Now before you settle on the final suspension for the 1600m open winner , get your facts all together first.
At Mort Daly the athlete ran 3rd in the Over 35 1600m beaten 2 sec , gave his absolute all and ran under target time going at 5.2346 mps what a run, really peaking for the Bay and not disclosing form. Then backs up pretty quickly after in the open 1600m and runs at 4.8886 mps he pretty much staggered to the line and didnt back up after the over 35 event, but gee it was good training for the Bay.He has not hidden anything.
CLEARLY A NAP but nothing in the stewards report.BIG MISTAKE
Then at the Bay he goes at 5.4489 to win the open 1600m 10 days later.
Guess what they go back 10 days and use the 4.8886 mps and dont look at the 5.2346 and say , too much improvement , heres your fine. Approx 4 pineapples
Here you have a bloke who runs anywhere and everywhere , as honest as the day, wins athlete of the meeting and they are trying to tarnish him.God forbid , do your homework or get out.
I would say 5.2346 mps and 5.44489 mps going into a major meeting is acceptable.
Before you press print , reconsider the decision, it doesnt make sense , or youu can print it for everyone to see.
Like I said , need help and cant work things out , come and see me , with that apology I have been asking for for 4 years.

Re: Bay Sheffield Day 2 Results
All over it Whisperer.
The Chief obviously doesnt know what a NAP is, Trevor here is explanation of what a NAP is.
4.14. NON ACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCE (NAP)
The athlete has been determined by the stewards to have not run to an acceptable level and therefore is ineligible
for a handicap lift until they receive an AP. This is not to suggest the athlete has deliberately under-performed, it
merely indicates the athlete has not demonstrated a level of performance that is commensurate with previous
performances or appropriate effort. The SAAL acknowledges that sometimes an athlete has genuinely not run
quite as well as they should have.
Crystal Brook when Manning runs 2.05.07 in her 800m heat then doesnt back up , it is open after all and harder and runs 2.13.27 in the final
ITS A NAP
Dont wait until the following meeting , where she runs 2.08.85 and fine her $25 for improved performance, Improvement from what, she has ran 2.05 at The Brook.
Mort Daly Maxwell runs 4.33 off 170m in 0ver 35 and runs under target, then runs 4.43 off 265 in the Open , his Open run is a NAP, nothing mentioned in report but 10 days later runs 4.05 off 265 at the Bay , if you had made the Open run at Mort Daly a NAP theres minimal improvement in his Over 35 run and the Bay.
Also those two athletes that broke at Mort Daly .... should be NAPS.
The rules are there to protect the athlete as well as the officials.

Hit it in one ZScore,,,,,,the rules are there to protect both athlete and official.
All this crap that is going on, with the seedings , some of the please explain etc have only come about because the rules of racing have not been adhered to.
Been pretty much that way all season.
Ive been a chief steward , use the rule book and you cant go wrong, pretty simple.

Re: Bay Sheffield Day 2 Results
Straight off the press , Whisperer told you about this almost a week ago .But get a read of this report, the Chief has tried to cover everything.
The Chief forgot to mention the SASH Bennett won at Brighton , it was a night meeting so 12 days before the Bay run
He won over 1000m off 130m running 2min 40.84 going at 5.409 mps At the Bay he went at 5.441 and got fined
And if he ran the same speed at The Bay as he did at Brighton he runs around a 4min 07, STILL UNDER TARGET
Chief Stewards report
Bennett Maxwell 1st: 1600 Metre Men – Chief Steward spoke to the Coach for an
explanation of his improved performance and as a result
breaking ‘Target Time’ by 4½ seconds in 4:05.35. He ran off the
same mark (265m) at Port Adelaide (19/11) in 4:19.14. His next
run was at the Mort Daly Meet (17/12) in two 1600m events.
His first run in the 1600m Women & Over 35 Final was a 3rd
Place in 4:33.18 off 170m. After a 2.75 hour break Bennett
chose to run the 1600m Men’s event off 265m where he
finished 12th in a field of 14 in 4:43.15. This equates to approx.
38 seconds slower than his Bay Sheffield Carnival performance.
At a race MPS of 5.44m/sec this is approx. a 200m improvement
in 10 days. The Coach accepted the Chief Steward’s analysis and
was advised a 20% fine of prizemoney be sanctioned.
Fine – 20% of
prizemoney

Re: Bay Sheffield Day 2 Results
If hes ran 4.33.18 off 170m in 4.33.18 then in 10 days runs 4.05.35 off 265m
THAT IS NOT A 200M IMPROVEMENT.
Runs 5.234 mps then 10 days later runs 5.441 mps
Not hard to actually work out
Probably a good idea for the Chief not to talk in terms of metres improved I dont think.
