Re: Toby Schreier Flinders Pro Meet Results
Sarah Manning Substantial improved performance in race time from 800m final
at Crystal Brook. Improvement of some 40-50 metres from
Crystal Brook to Flinders in 2 weeks. Athlete was spoken to after
the final by Chief Steward and Chris Dimitrak about the run.
Crystal Brook: Handicap – 175m Time: 2:13.00
Flinders: Handicap – 115m Time: 2:08.85
Fine - $25
Just a piece of advice to the Chief Steward, I know you are new , but think before you start handing out fines.
Sarah travelled up to The Brook by car ......two hours, ran in the OPEN 800m heats and final and 300m.Sarah is not a seasoned 800m athlete, is not a gun but a good average performer, so she is not going to back up two 800ms in the one afternoon.
I think there were two girls competing in the Open 800m and both dropped big time from heat to final.
Yet no mention in the Stewards report.
Then you move to Flinders and take her very slow Final time at The Brook instead of the faster heat time in comparing improvement. And fine Sarah $25
By the way her improvement from Crystal Brook Heat to Flinders was .319 MPS.
And by the way the winner of the 800m Open final at Flinders improved .316 from The Brook final to Flinders .......What Club.
Now because of what you did to Sarah , when Rachael Kean runs next you will have to take her time of 2.13.97 instead of heat time of 2.01.06 and Racheal will be fined as well. You have backed yourself into a corner.
UNLESS UNLESS , you admit it was a mistake and give Sarah back her $25, nothing wrong with that at all.More respect for doing that then waiting until Racheal runs for another $25

Re: Toby Schreier Flinders Pro Meet Results
The Chief Steward needs to do a backflip on this one.
As it stands , when Racheal Kean competes again , the Chief as he has with Manning will go back to the final of the Open 800m at Crystal Brook where Racheal ran 2.13.97 at 4.627 MPS to compare improvement in her next run.
If Racheal hasnt improved from that weekend but comes out and runs exactly the same 2.01.06 or 5.121 MPS as she did in her heat at Crystal Brook, she will be told she has improved 55m to 60 m and will be fined $25.
Real good time to earn respect from the athletes and own the mistake.
For now I wont mention the 10m lift Manning got from Marion where she didnt run, to Flinders where she won, did the handicapper also take the time from the final at Crystal Brook in accessing her mark for Flinders. She should never have been gifted the 10m lift
1 Sarah Manning 3 115.00m 2:08.85 2:08.85
2 Victoria Cholsh Red 5.00m 2:14.38 2:14.38
3 Alison Sorell 7 145.00m 2:14.45 2:14.45
4 Ali Trewartha 4 125.00m 2:18.50 2:18.50
5 Courtney Ryder 5 130.00m 2:18.64 2:18.64
6 Molly Cook Yellow 45.00m 2:19.46 2:19.46
What a great finish it would have been if her mark of 105m which was allocated to her at Marion had been retained.
We all make mistakes while we have our L plates on ,we are human, but the difference is owning up to them.

Re: Toby Schreier Flinders Pro Meet Results
Welcome back , Whisperer
As per usual , all over it.
So Manning runs 2.05.07 in her heat and then 2.13.27 in her final, loses
8.20
Kean runs 2.00.95 in her heat and then runs 2.13.97 in her final loses
13.02
Stewerds report .........NO MENTION.
SAYS IT ALL
4.14. NON ACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCE (NAP)
The athlete has been determined by the stewards to have not run to an acceptable level and therefore is ineligible
for a handicap lift until they receive an AP. This is not to suggest the athlete has deliberately under-performed, it
merely indicates the athlete has not demonstrated a level of performance that is commensurate with previous
performances or appropriate effort. The SAAL acknowledges that sometimes an athlete has genuinely not run
quite as well as they should have.
This rule says it all, covers the lot.Can someone give Trevor a copy.
The girls final times should be disregarded in future handicapping and performances.
Good pick up Whisperer, pretty much common sense though

Re: Toby Schreier Flinders Pro Meet Results
Yesterday Racheal ran at Port and ran 5.416MPS over 550m off handicap of 40m so ran 510m at 5.416
At Crystal Brook in the FINAL of 800m where she came of 180m , therefore ran 620m so not a great deal in distances actually ran she ran 620m at 4.627 MPS
Has to face the same penalty as Manning at Flinders because the Chief goofed up.
UNLESS , UNLESS UNLESS , HE COMES CLEAN AND ADMITS THERE WAS AN ERROR MADE.
DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH.
