Four lad ran big REDS in the final
Other two finalists ran big REDS in lead up races and shouldnt have been in the final if mumbles was doing his job
BUT
3. There were very fast times recorded in the sprint events. The reasons for
this are not clear,

No updates on the Glenelg Carnival on Team APP as yet .
With whats happened , RED RED RED, Calcutta misfire, shit crowd, circle track distance questionable, could the next update be an resignation, I think it would be very well received.

Re: re Bay Sheffield
A Facebook post by Ali Saliu suggests Ali has forgotten what is exciting!
We have seen closer races than the mens 120m on Tuesday. It was close between 1st and 2nd, tight for 3rd but after that it has a spread.
Now closeness of a race isnt the only thing that creates excitement.
A thing called atmosphere helps, sadly once again the Glenelg Gift severely lacked atmosphere.
So many things are missing from the Bay which means sadly the meet is hardly exciting anymore.
So dream on Ali, you have alot more to do, a hell of alot more to do to make this exciting again.

Re: re Bay Sheffield
Off course Colin couldnt help to pipe in, saying they'll make more changes (again) to make it harder for under 18's to win, easily fixed he says (they havent fixed a thing so far so we'll see how this attempt goes).
In the 2 years under Colin 3 under 18's (2 female and 1 male) have won the Bay.
Under Leon only 3 under 18's won the Bay in 10 years!!

Re: re Bay Sheffield
Wasnt Burnie something to watch.I lost count of the number of times that the commentator said , This person represented Aust, this person is the fastest vetc etc
Talk about talent .
And didnt Fejiro Omuvwie look like he was enjoying himself, bit different than Loxton. He not come back to saal ever whilst the same mob and system is in charge.
And to think the athletes were choosing to run there for less money.
They didnt need inflated handicaps , the decathlon wasnt given an easy mark, Lewis in the womens behind scratch.
They came from all over Aust for the second best carnival in Aust.

Now closeness of a race isnt the only thing that creates excitement.
People come to see Winx in action , they come to see Black Caviar in action, they come to see Makbe Diva in action it doesnt matter how much they win by .
Thats excitement, not always a close finish.
To be able to entice the athletes that Burnie did , just so exciting and they werent gifted wins.
You dont want them being gifted wins and taking huge chunks of prizemoney away from our bread and butter athletes, without earning those wins in nthe same way others do.
Camden coming up wonder if a Vic will win of 37m again.Or Loxton off 14m. Gets them to SA though
I know the State Premier sold off all the infrasructure from the Clipsal 500 , Colin can you let me know when you are selling off the picket fences from the Bay Sheffield as I would like some.

Thats it Zed, Clipsal 500 is or was exciting, the Supercar race out at Tailem Bend isnt.
Most would say the Xmas Pageant on the streets is exciting but at Adelaide Oval its not.
One critical difference is atmosphere.

Its really sad for SA athletics , Coaches in SAAL are being rewarded for sub standard performances. Not to many National reps will we see.
No need to improve athletes let the handicap do that for you.
The fastest lad in SA doesnt want to run at the saal main event even though asked, doesnt that ring alarm bells.
Tell us Sherlock you didnt make the phone call.
Off overseas for a few weeks so catch everyone when I return Happy New Year.

After whats happened today the Calcutta is going to be a complete disaster.
What happened to Greg Whitecross was a complete disgrace.
Everything is open and transparent with the league so what I have heard cant possibly be correct.
I have heard on the streets that Greg is coming over to the Camden Classic Meeting to run in the Over 35 400m and has been given approx 10m more than he had at Mt Gambier.
Surely with all that Greg has had go against him surely it cant be right.
Nominations arent out let alone handicaps so I think someone is pulling my leg.
After all its open and transparent.

If that is happenning in Over 35 races, one has to think how long a piece of string is. not a good look.

Whitecross ran off 90m at Hastings Jan 2022 over 300m in otherwards had to run 210m. MPS WAS 4.97
Off 140m at Camden where he has to run 260m, if he substains the MPS that he ran at Hastings for an extra 50m he is in the race up to his ears.
No wonder he is coming after he got his handicap.

Re: re Bay Sheffield
Had a look at Gregs results etc. I cant see him running better than 53-54 seconds for the for the 400 at Camden off 140, based on his 300 results. I could be wrong. The Nett time is 51 for the over 35's.
From a run through a chunk of the entrants other than Jamae or Hobbs no one else will run under 54. It will be tight with those 3. IMO

Hi T.S.
Whitecross has ran 2020 Hastings 300 5.47 MPS
2021 Hastings 300 5.04 MPS
2022 Hastings 300m 4.97 MPS
Right in it up to his ears and will run by my calculations around 52.5
The big bloke has been injured so ignore a lot of his runs.

Re: re Bay Sheffield
Yep thats what I have him at based on his MPS at 4.97 for 210m at 260m it will probably be a bit off this, so I expect a 1 second maybe 2 seconds off that 52.5. Greg has battled to get moving again and from what I have read he is probably doing pretty good for where he was a few months back. I still Hobbs to go alright (might depend on what he does at ASA on Saturday) and Jamae still in the hunt.

I am guessing that he knew his mark before the nominations came out , I was told that, and I have previously mentioned that, and he knows what he can run with that handicap and thats why he is coming.
BUT its all open and transparent.
