Who will win the 2021 Men's Ringwood Gift?
Ringwood Men's Gift
Lets get a poll up and going seeing as Mex has been MIA the last few weeks. Last chance for a win before Stawell. Who wins the 2021 Men's Ringwood Gift?
Re: Ringwood Men's Gift
Lacey won Bendigo in 2016 off 34m in 44.98.
Pulled to 18m for Stawell that year.
Had 5 years off and goes straight onto 32m for Ballarat and Ringwood.
Obviously has had some issues but is still very young.
Brennan was 2nd in 2017 Stawell off 40m. Has barely broken 50 secs since and is now on 48m. Loves to "peak" for Stawell.

Several athletes appear to have crept out to some very generous 400m marks. There's going to be some quick times at Easter.

Without intending any slight against the legend of KK, some are questioning if he can actually make the entire 400 metre journey.Bang Bang wrote:LACEY easy from KK

Keep an eye out for KK pumping up those guns in the gym during the day. Will want to look the goods for his podium photos. He'll have no problems chewing up Lacey when he unleashes here. Can't wait.

Re: Ringwood Men's Gift
KK has not run a 400 since Ararat in December 2016. He has scratched from every 400 he has entered since. He's a solid performer up to the 120m and should final in the 100m at ringwood.
My tip is he will probably scratch from the 400.
Any respectable member of the athletic community who tips Kris off 24m risks losing their credibility.

Jeff Sargent off 80m? Only has to run 320m.
Got a good talking to by officials at Docklands.
Be interesting to see how reacts to being "monitored".

OMG.... I have no words, but here goes anyway.
The handicapper has had a howler here, time for him to hand in the VAL polo and vest, perhaps you can takeover Zonked seeing how you're so well informed and across the form of all runners?
I'm sure, in fact I'm certain that the handicap for Lacey will be corrected for Ringwood and Stawell, even though his run at Ballarat off 32m was well off the pace, perhaps the handicapper confused Jack and Max? Not true, just a complete brain fade.
Awkward conversation now to be had with Jack and Nick, but thanks for saving my bacon Zonked, I'm sure the handicapper is not a fan of having pants pulled down due unexplainable error.
On Brennan, his no longer the athlete he once was, I'm sure that handicapper knows full well what he can and can't do. I'm very comfortable that even off 50m he won't be figuring come Easter Monday, well at least not over the 1 lap journey anyway.
Looking at the poll right now, none of the top 3 in polling thus far will figure, KK, JD and NB are no chance at Ringwood or Stawell for that matter.
I'd be looking at the likes of DH, BL and outside chance to JS this weekend.
Finally, even though many runners have crept out in handicap late in the season, I'm tipping that winning times at Stawell will be mid to high 46sec which will be in line with CTT. Fastest time this year in 400m Open is Ballarat F/M at 47.58sec. If times are faster so be it, as long as it tight and close racing with no blow outs or standouts.
Good luck to all for the remainder of the season.
Cheers, Nick

Re: Ringwood Men's Gift
Does defy logic. This is a diabolical handicapper error, nothing to do with the athlete.
Wins off 2016 Bendigo off 34 in 44.98s. Give say a second for fast track, still has him around 46.0.
Next start, pulled back to 18 for 2016 Stawell.
does not enter another 400 until Ballarat 2021 and gets a 14m lift to 32?
Good luck to Jack for the rest of the season.

Re: Ringwood Men's Gift
Baltimore NDF put his hand up for the error. It is easy for us to sit back and look at mistakes. Much harder is to be the man doing the actual job. HRP let him down at Ballarat as they are there to pick up these types of errors.
Rules have a provision for obvious errors so this can be fixed.
NDF hopefully you stay on next year. Your honesty and transparency is refreshing.
Stawell 400m FM and BM divisions winners are not listed in the Ringwood field. Whilst not necessarily related, both divisions will be won by runners with famous Stawell Gift and Australian athletics surnames.

Re: Ringwood Men's Gift
Sorry i didn't realise NDF has a connection to the 'handicapper' and was owning up to the error.
Sincere apologies to Nick DF.
You are right 100% Zonked. Easy to criticise with the benefit of hindsight.

Re: Ringwood Men's Gift
I only assumed NDF was the handicapper as he said "thanks for saving my bacon"
