550m womens, A Dogs breakfast
On 18th Dec at the Mort Daly meeting an athletes runs 0ff 65m and runs 1.25.23 which is adjusted to a slower time of 1.25.62 in her heat.
The athlete then runs 1.29.57 in the final with no adjustment, as there is no mention in the Chief Stewards report we can only assume that he considered this an acceptable performance.
One meeting out from the Bay Sheffield , you would think the Chief would have eyes like a hawk.
8 days later the athlete runs 1.22.17 at the Bay in her heat off 67m with no adjustment.
Then comes out and runs 1.22.11 in the Final but with adjusted time runs 1.19.91, just under net
All runs on the same track two off 65m and two off 67m
1.25.62 adjust time off 65
1.29.57 no adjustment off 65
1.22.17 no adjustment off 67
1.19.91 adjusted time off 67.
So the athlete in just 8 days , from Mort Daly Final to Bay Sheff final has improved 9.66sec or 50m over 550m.......wow
So the athlete needs to be DQ, huge fine or the saal come good and admit their adjustments are a heap of manure.Or they can just do nothing and tell everyone to just suck it up.
If this happened in the val , they would be jumping out of trees.

Re: 550m womens, A Dogs breakfast
This is Chook Lotto all over again.
So the saal adjusts the heat of the 550m at Mort Daly and not the final, but then dont adjust the heat at the Bay but adjust the final.
No uniformity at all.
Bit like the second day, the old codgers 1600m race got adjusted to faster times but the womens, backmarkers, frontmarkers and select 1600m didnt.
Work that one out.
Time for the saal to come clean or athletes will begin walking away again. The honeymoon is over.

Re: 550m womens, A Dogs breakfast
Here’s an idea. How about just falling into line with the way the Vics adjust their times.
Some of those men’s semi final adjustments are utterly ridiculous.
One semi final time was adjusted by 4m . In Victoria that would require an 8m headwind.

Before I go on , Full marks to the Vics who came over and the red runners who ran her heart out, plus the other 17 athletes, thanks for paying your money and running for a race in which you had no chance of winning.

Re: 550m womens, A Dogs breakfast
So Munt goes from finishing last in her heat on exactly the same track to 8 days later finishing second in the Bay Sheffield 550m womens final, thats one hell of a coaching feat.
Like SA Whisperer said , lets let the Management committee deal with it.

Will be interesting to see ,wether those athletes who showed such good form at the Bay can continue with it at Reynella.
